Extraordinary architecture and staff who try their best do not matter.

They call it Shanghai Wonderland. And indeed, the hotel looks like the resort of the future.

It’s located within crater of the lake, built into the quarry’s walls, with 2 floors above ground and 17 floors below ground level of which 2 are underwater.

It looks like it's growing straight out of the cliffs.

Fun touch is the hotel’s rock-climbing wall which starts at the bottom of the quarry.

There is also an aquarium and water sports center.

But, nothing is enough if guests are not happy with the experience.

Engineering wonders and shiny interiors are nice to see, but are not and will never be the core of hospitality.

Just a glimpse at the reviews and there are high chances you’ll skip it. Maybe stop by or at most stay one night.

Even the stuff who tries their best is the pain to experience when there is no flow in the whole system, oriented towards a guest.

High quality service and attention to details are superpowers of small boutique hotels. Don’t underestimate your capabilities.
