Hotel Story Nb.7 Under the Sky

I remember seeing this traditional red Swedish cottage high above my head while walking in a park near Stockholm. It was 13 meters up in the boughs of an 130 years old Oak tree. One person bedroom, toilet and balcony that you could book for a night. Not anymore though.
Now, while you probably wouldn’t stay in that one, I know you would be beyond pleased after visiting this private game reserve in Africa.
It’s open-to-the-skies, roofless, treehouses with decks seeing hundreds of miles into the distance and hearing nothing but a real silence.
At 5am you would hear the sounds of wooden gong while hot coffee and biscuits would wait for you at the entrance inviting you to get up and watch the sunrise.
There are open fireplaces, telescopes for viewing animals and an art gallery inspired by wildlife.
They’ll invite you to bonfire dinner by the river and light pathways with candles for you to walk to your room.
It’s high-touch service with many surprises during one’s stay, which all fit the location and create special experiences out of what could’ve been missed ordinary moments.
Note: These stories are here to inspire. However, we are not saying their realisation is perfect.
