Someone else’s great idea is probably not a good fit for your hotel.

There is nothing wrong in inspiration. But if you start following trends, you will end up chasing them. Instead be loyal to your own concept and values.

For example, if you are eco hotel in Bali where everyone offers appealing flower baths, be the one to offer TEA BATH.

Trends are only good for marketing, but hard to provide in a real life.

They don’t allow you to connect with guests. Yes, they do aim to create memorable experiences but actually fail to do so.

Because everyone is trying to think of something new and amaze people, so they are used to it and not impressed anymore.

It is because people don’t engage deeper. They take photos but it is not something they will come back for.

In fact, they will be looking for the next wow experience in some other place, something new, again and again.

But, when you use trends for inspiration and adopt them to fit your concept and specific story, it can be really great strategy.

This reminds me of Guerrilla marketing when brands use popular topics or viral trends in their own way to promote themselves.

Listen what market is hyped about at the moment, see where trends are going, how luxury is evolving but always, always adapt it to your own concept.
