It’s all about HOW you implement them.
And how you implement them depends on your company culture and your business mindset really.
You could make things more complicated or simple and easy.
Standards and protocols, systems in general, are not the purpose for itself.
Unfortunately, that’s what most companies do – implement some standards just to be able to show some books to some standardization bodies and make employees read them.
The purpose of standards and protocols is to SUPPORT you and your team and provide CONSISTENT QUALITY to your guests.
They are PRACTICAL and NOT DEAD letter.
They exist to make everyone’s job easier. Nothing should be mysterious and depend on each person’s skills to conclude and find the best way of doing something.
They describe company’s KNOW-HOW, save time and energy and ensure the promised result.
If you don’t care about systems and try to avoid them OR you have them but your team neglects them then there is a problem in their implementation.
Don’t run systems just for the sake of it, but with intention that will serve everyone in your business.
Know what you want to accomplish before building the structure.
DON’T make stairs which lead to NOWHERE.
